Four Hours

...is how long I just spent shopping online for a baby car seat/ stroller combo. I haven't looked at these for 6 years, but I sold my old set long ago and am in the market again. Maybe it is because the last time around we were only looking at the clearance table at Babies-R-Us and were limited to the money gifted to us by loving family and friends, but there seems to be so many more options now. And, who knew that baby seats now come in Big and Tall?? Whew!

I love Amazon because they always have lots of customer reviews. However, in reading reviews for baby items, it seems like lots of first-time moms love to put their opinions out there about baby gear they have yet to try...because they are still only 5 months pregnant! And, the bulk of their review consists of how cute or stylish the item is. Sheesh! I can see the picture, Mama. I want to know if you can lift the thing. With your kid inside. In the rain. While also buckling up your preschooler's car seat. And unloading the groceries.

Any suggestions???

I love the chicco combo, and my sister can't stop raving about her BOB which works with most infant seat

That sure made me laugh! I remember thinking the same thing when looking for a car seat/stroller combo for Ben. Unfortunately, the one we bought was nice looking, but I wasn't a big fan. Too heavy. Or maybe we just have chubby babies. Or both. Good luck! I am so excited for you guys and can't wait to see this sweet boy.

That's a tall order for a stroller. If you find one that does all that, let me know! Although, I think what you are really looking for is grandma to help you schlep all those kiddos around!! :)

I have two strollers. I have a BOB for running and a McClaren umbrella for running around. I really like both and couldn't live without either. I'm way against the combo. The ONLY time I ever wished had a combo was once when Leah was asleep in her car seat and I had to run into the mall for a quick errand. Since there aren't shopping carts at the mall and I only planned to be inside for a minute, I sucked it up and carried her in the seat (keep in mind, she was nearly 10 lbs at birth). It took awhile for me to regain feeling in my arm. But at least she stayed asleep, right??

Good luck with your search!

For taller people, the Baby Jogger City Series is GREAT! The handle is higher, and also adjustable. You can buy the attachment for the car seat.

I had the MacLaren double stroller, and did NOT like it, because it was too heavy.

But, I have the Inglesina Single Stroller and it's been great!

Tyson and I did a TON of research on ratings of easiness, durability, fabric, price, and look! By far the best overall was the Chicco. It might have been about 50 bucks more expensive than a Graco, but if you get the 20% off coupons that Babies R Us gives out, then it can save you some money! We absolutely LOVE our chicco travel system and I walk with our stroller everyday. I can fold it up and lift it into our trunk with Alissa in my arms. It is light and easily folds. I recommend it totally! Good luck!

Well, I can tell you one thing--you're probably not going to need the "big and tall" model!

My personal favorite was the Sit'n Stand. Of course I haven't used a stroller for 7 years. Mine was a little heavy, not bad, and compactly fit in the back of my van...I hear they are better now as far as weight and compact. Mine was just one of the first to come out. I am old.

My Preggo craving was Red's frozen yogurt (vanilla) with pecans and peaches...hey, it had fruit AND nuts, with non-fat vanilla? And I only gained about 60 pounds!

I like Andrea's comment. I'll be there for the baby's birth...can I just stay? Don't worry Chad...I'm just kidding!

Do you just want mine? Are you coming to CA? We just bought it last Christmas for Jayson - a Graco Quattro Pro I think - carseat/stroller combo. It is mostly black with some blue/grey plaid in the seat.

I chose it because it has a roomy basket underneath, higher handle, & decent wheels. My babies are always heavyweights so we need tough wheels. I did LOVE the chicco products but they were about $80 more than Graco.

Good luck. I did NOT enjoy my hunt last year as much as I had hoped.
