I hate to spoil the surprise, but I think you're getting a fleece blanket for Christmas.
Based on the 3 hour line I waited in at the cutting table in JoAnn's today, I'm pretty sure EVERYONE in the country is getting one. Fleece was, apparently, a screamin' deal this weekend. At least, that is what the mile-high piles in each cart would suggest. I was just trying to pick up quilt fabric so I can properly welcome my new niece to the world when I was bombarded with the hoards of crafters craving the soft stuff.
Luckily, the Christmas Spirit is still fresh and full. People were chatting with one another about their fleece selections (and wondering, aloud, what I could possibly be making without a stitch of fleece in my basket), laughing with the cutting table employees, and sharing coupons.
Thankfully, sharing coupons. Because I'd grabbed the wrong ad and mine had expired.
By way of advice, if you should venture out to JoAnn's during the fleece extravaganza, do take time for a full meal. The clementine and two pieces of fudge I shoved in my mouth by way of 'lunch' before I left didn't really do it for me. I came home with a headache, a growling tummy, some darling fabric, and a hope that my trips to the craft store are through until January, at least!

ahh the joys of black friday! i was at target and abandoned my cart when i saw the TWO hour long line for check-out! glad you were more sucsessful!
Adri', I've stood in those 'black Friday' lines in Joann's, my sisters vow to never shop with me again if Joann's on the list. I'm glad you survived!
That is one store I didn't make it to on Black Friday. Dang! Have fun with your fabric!
Ade, you must not have had the kids on this particular shopping outing as I can't imagine them sitting still for 3 minutes let alone 3 hours waiting in line. Thanks for your patience and bravery in venturing out on this scary shopping weekend. I'm sure Skye will appreciate her quilt that much more.
Wow, that must have been some crazy cute fabric if it was worth waiting that long for. I would have given up after 15 minutes!! Congrats on your new niece!!
So funny! There are defintiely fleece blankets being wrapped up for unsuspecting family here as you know! However, not by design. Is there a store in the United States that is not horrendously busy on the Friday after T-day?! I am glad coupons were shared!
I get that at Joanns too since I never buy fleece. I braved several places that weekend but you must be pretty stout of heart to have braved Joanns. My congratulations.
Adri, I blog stalked you from Jennifers blog. I saw your name and couldn't help myself. In case you are wondering who this crazy woman is I will give you a few hints. We spent 6 weeks at Ricks together with a bunch of crazy counsellors. Do you remember being called a Pyro Pigeon perhaps. Anyway, it is Alison Clark or Delap now. I have wondered about you and what you are up to. You are welcome to check out our blog if you like. I have a little Dallin as well. He is 3 weeks old! Hope you are well and good luck with the fleece.
Our Joann's was the easiest trip I made on Black Friday. But I didn't get any fleece.
Adri, I had no idea you were such a captivating and witty writer. I decided to visit your blog after receiving your adorable Christmas card and I became enthralled with your entries. You've got a talent girl. Thanks for the Christmas wishes and why don't you and Chad drop off the kids and hit a session?!
