I'm wondering what the ramifications would be if I gave up, and conceded victory to the tornado two-year-old who lives in my house. He has serious angst about things that are put away, folded, stacked, set, cleared, cleaned or stashed in a closet with the door shut. When he comes across items in said positions, his immediate reaction is to dump, throw, topple, smear and spread disaster across God's green earth.
{picture me, sitting cross-legged amid massive clutter, serenely repeating the mantra: Two doesn't last forever. Two doesn't last forever. Two doesn't last forever.}

Oh, if anyone understands, I do!!
I have been putting together a Blurb-type scrapbook for Gavin for the period between his first and third birthdays. In the process I have re-read all of the blog posts about his antics. I'm exhausted just reading what we've experienced in the last couple of years. Living it is much worse. Hang in there!
I think that's why two year olds are SO cute! If they weren't, they may not survive! Good luck with that boy!
Amen to Kami. Ade, your thoughts are my thoughts this morning, seriously I laughed reading because we are living the same life. Except you are doing it with 4 and I only 2, you're amazing!
I have always admired you as a mother, and as such a strong a patient person. You are amazing! Hang in there.
p.s. thanks for the advice. That is what I had decided to do. I am still so sad to miss the first gymnastics meet, but I know that the video will be fun to watch as well.
Oh man, Skye's getting there as well and she's not even 18 months old yet! We're hoping she gets it out of her system early, but we're not holding our breath. Her new thing this week has been to dump out an entire box of cereal or crumble her crackers all over the living room rug. Good thing we got a fancy new vacuum for Christmas!
Two doesn't last forever? Promise?
Picture Gram reading the blog and watching my grown up (but once two year old) handle her two year old...and smiling! You're doing great! I love you and admire your youth and energy. xoxoxo P.S. Am I going to be there for the gymnastics meet? When is it?
Wonderful, busy boy! Good thing he's got a fabulous (even when tired) mama who loves him in spite of and even because of all his antics!
Adri, I laughed a lot when I read this post. Soooo true! Believe me, I can certainly relate yo this and I'm sending hugs! This makes me think of a sign I saw, it looked like a construction zone sign and it said, "Please excuse our mess, we are growing a family"! Hang on! ;0)
I hear you! Dallin is 18 months and he is the silent destroyer. I love nap time and bed time where I can relax in peace.
